Missing Kentucky Woman found Dead in Big Sandy River

Dispatchers say Florence Tkack's body was found in the Big Sandy River at 11:40 a.m..

LOUISA, Ky. -- Harold Slone, Director of Emergency Management, says the body of Florence Tkack was found about a quarter of a mile from where Tkack was last seen.

Tkack was a 79-year-old Alzheimer's patient who had been missing since she walked away from her caregiver on McClure Road in Louisa on Thanksgiving day.

Lawrence County dispatch say hundreds of volunteers gave up their holiday weekend to search for the woman.

Funeral arrangements are pending.
