Nitro Police said that Linda Sloan, 50, was pronounced dead at the scene.

NITRO -- At approximately 4:43 p.m. Nitro Police responded to the area of 4115 First Ave. at the Economy Inn for a pedestrian that had been struck.
According to witnesses a dog was struck by a passing vehicle.
Traffic had stopped and woman had run out in between vehicles to get the dog.
While attempting to get to the dog, traffic began slowly moving. The woman, identified as Linda Sloan, 50, of Nitro, was struck by a Tractor Trailer.
She was pronounced dead at the scene. |
