CHARLESTON -- An employee at a video gambling parlor in Charleston was beaten, pepper sprayed and robbed early Monday morning, according to police.
The robbery happened about 2:30 a.m. at the Park Systems Inc. on MacCorkle Avenue in Kanawha City.
Investigators said Virgil Scragg was sitting at one of the machines when the suspect entered and grabbed him from behind.
Scragg was reportedly thrown to the floor, pepper sprayed and beaten.
The suspect grabbed a bank bag in the victim's back pocket and fled.
The suspect is described as a black male, about 5-feet, 8 inches tall, 140 pounds, wearing a ski mask, navy blue hooded sweatshirt and dark maroon gym pants.
