Victim's car was stolen while at a car wash.

ELKVIEW -- Kanawha County Sheriff's Department is investigating, after a man said his vehicle was stolen at a car wash.

In a news release from KCSD, police responded to the Elkview Car Wash at 100 Little Sandy Road just before midnight Thursday.

According to deputies, they met with the victim, a 37-year-old male from Elkview. According to the victim, he pulled into the car wash to wash his white 2006 Ford Expedition.

The news release states that the victim was approached from behind by an unknown person and was struck in the head, knocking him to the ground.

The unknown assailant then jumped into his vehicle and drove off with it. The victim received minor injuries and did not need medical attention.

Prior to the incident, the victim did notice a small white car, unknown make or model, drive around the car wash.

Anyone that may have been around the car wash between 11:30 p.m. and midnight Thursday, and observed any suspicious activity, is asked to contact the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office at 304-357-0169.
