Students honored veterans by holding the first Take a Veteran to School Day.

HUNTINGTON -- Students at Geneva Kent Elementary honored veterans by holding the first Take a Veteran to School Day event.

Four veterans from different branches of the military spoke to kids and answered questions about Veterans Day.

The vets showed pictures and brought in their awards and badges for the students to get a hands-on feel for what the holiday really means.

The school hopes to make Take a Veteran to School Day an annual event.
