Prenter -- Brush fires are keeping firefighters busy in Boone County.
Three areas were affected, and the largest one occured around Jarrells Creek near Prenter.
The brush fire started Saturday and was brought under control Sunday, but rekindled Monday.
Division of Forestry investigators said it was deliberately set and that 600 acres will probably be destroyed by the time it's under control.
Firefighters also battled a brush fire on Newport Mountain in Danville over the weekend. The fire burned about 400 acres and destroyed a shed along the way.
Another brush fire broke out at White Oak, near Orgas Sunday evening. It was caused by an underground coal seam.
So far, no injuries were reported in any of the brush fires.
