Buckhannon -- The $1.6 million "American Heart: Framing Our History" grant will provide professional development for American History teachers in eight counties.
This is the third year Wesleyan has served as the higher education partner for the grant.
Dr. Robert Rupp, a history professor at Wesleyan, says it was an honor to be selected.
"The fact that we were able to get one of these grants this year, and really for the third time, I think is a testimony to Wesleyan's caliber and Wesleyan's willingness to help support public school teachers of history," says Dr. Rupp.
Rupp says the professional development will focus on ways to make American history come alive in classrooms.
