ELKINS -- Randolph County's Emergency Medical Services director said the new Health and Human Resources regulation will help keep children safe during transport.
Randolph County EMS ambulances already have child seats in all of the ambulances, including some that are built in.
"Like parents who need to protect children in their cars, when we transport children we need to have the same type of protection for them in case there's an accident and we stop suddenly, to keep the child from being thrown in the ambulance," said Ray Chaney, executive director of the Randolph County EMS.
The new law will take effect at the beginning of the year.
