Portsmouth Man Arrested in Kansas for Failing to Register as Sex Offender

James Gordon is in a Kansas jail awaiting extradition to Ohio

PORTSMOUTH, Ohio -- The Scioto County Sheriff's office issued an arrest warrant for the arrest of registered sex offender.

A warrant was issued for James Gordon, 35, failing to verify his residence.

Gordon as required by law was sent a seven-day notice to verify his residence.

This complaint was filed with the Sheriff’s Office after the community of Timmonds Ave. in Portsmouth filed the complaint that Gordon did not reside at the address he registered.

After further investigation, it was confirmed that Gordon was not living at this address.

On Oct. 27, Gordon was located in Dodge City, Kansas. With the help of the Dodge City Kansas Police Department, Gordon was arrested without incident.

Gordon is currently in Dodge City Kansas pending extradition back to the state of Ohio.
