SUTTON -- Braxton County's deputy shortage appears to be over.
We first told you about the shortage a couple of months ago. Now, the the Braxton County Sheriff's Office has hired three new deputies, a spokesman said.
The newly hired deputies are scheduled to enter the West Virginia State Police Academy in January. In the meantime, they will ride along with current deputies to get a feel for the position.
The new hires make the department to one deputy short of what it was under the previous administration.
