Joshua Price was shot during an altercation with South Charleston police early Monday morning.

CHARLESTON -- A St. Albans man allegedly involved in a scuffle with a South Charleston police officer appears in court for his arraignment Wednesday morning.

A Kanawha County magistrate read the charges against 27-year-old Joshua Price.

A South Charleston police officer approached Price who was sitting in a vehicle on Kirby Street at about 4:30 a. m. Monday.

Some sort of altercation ensued and Price was shot during the incident. He was taken to the hospital at the time. Two officers involved in the incident also went to the hospital, one with minor injuries and one with a concussion. The Kanawha County Sheriff's department is investigating the incident.

What do the St Albans police have to do with this? Did I miss something in the story? The man is from St Albans but it was South Charleston Police that arrested/shot him unless maybe there is more to the story I have not read.

The real question is "Why doesn't the Saint Albans Police department have a college graduate on payroll"? Several police shooting an unarmed man.Pathetic. I would like to see the officer forced to take an I.Q. test...If he can read.

SO YOU MEAN TO TELL ME THAT SEVERAL WELL TRAINED LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS COULD NOT SUBDUE ONE UNARMED MAN WITHOUT THE USE OF DEADLY FORCE? WHY WAS THIS OFFICER'S WEAPON DRAWN IN THE FIRST PLACE. IF THE ACCUSED HAD BEEN MACED WOULD HE REALLY HAVE BEEN ABLE TO SEE WELL ENOUGH TO LOCATE THE OFFICER'S WEAPON? Seriously people like him or not take a good HONEST look at the facts.
