Woman also injured during incident
SHREWSBURY -- Kanawha County Deputies are investigating a stabbing that happened in a Kanawha County business.
Deputies were called to the Brown Bottle Bar in Shrewsbury just after midnight.
Investigators said a man walked into the bar without wearing a shirt.
The owner and victim, William Pauley Jr., 49, of Hernshaw served him a beer.
Deputies said when Pauley asked the suspect to put a shirt on, the suspect became irate and refused to leave.
A woman nearby, Trudy Jane Boothe, 54, of Belva, WV, asked the suspect to calm down.
The suspect struck her in the face with his fist.
She suffered minor injuries and was not transported to the hospital.
A fight ensued between the suspect and Pauley.
Pauley was stabbed in the chest area.
The extent of his injuries are unknown, but not expected to be life threatening.
He was transported to CAMC General Division.
