Portsmouth Man Arrested on Charges of Rape

PORTSMOUTH, Ohio -- Scioto County police have arrested a a Portsmouth man in connection with a rape, which allegedly occurred Wednesday morning

Sheriff Marty V. Donini tells WOWKTV.com the Scioto County Sheriff's Office 911 dispatch center received a call at 3:44 a.m. requesting a squad for a sexual assault victim.

During the investigation, it was determined that the female victim had been at the Lazy Village Campgrounds and R.V. Park on Us Hwy 52 West Portsmouth Ohio.

When the alleged victim tried to leave the park, she told police, that she was attacked.

Authorities arrested Christopher Adkins, 36, of Portsmouth. Adkins has been charged with one count of first degree felony rape. Adkins will appear in Portsmouth Municipal Court on Thursday.
