A normal traffic stop turned out to be much more complicated for local police, when they found out the car was full of illegal aliens.
Story by Carly Herbert
We usually read about illegal aliens in places like Texas and Arizona, but not here in West Virginia.
During a routine traffic stop in Lewis County, six illegal aliens were un-covered. The state police say they pulled over a pair of cars on I-79 for speeding. The cars were going more than 90 miles per hour.
The troopers collected information from the drivers and passengers ...and determined that six of the passengers were illegal aliens. Two of the men had fake drivers licenses from North Carolina. The other four had official-looking I-D cards, also from North Carolina.
They say they're from Mexico and that they work for a construction company in Morgantown. But troopers took the men to the Central Regional Jail.
On Wednesday immigration agents will process and fingerprint them.
