EAST BANK -- Crews continue cleaning up the muddy mess left behind after a massive mudslide on Route 61 in East Bank.
It happened early Monday morning after an abandoned mine portal errupted, and began blasting out water.
Since, crews have been working non-stop to clear the roadway and re-open the road to traffic.
Those living at the scene say in a day's time, they've come a long way.
"I am impressed. I know that they still have humungous amounts of work to do. They have to go all the way up to the blowout and remove every bit of rubble and debris down, pretty much down to bedrock and start over," said Katena Armstrong Willis.
DEP Officials tell me phase one of the clean up is clearing the roadway and properly re-routing the water.
Phase two will then be sealing off the opening.
