We all have to remember that this sort of thing happens all over the world. People are sick and this is a terrible crime that isn't just in one area, it is everywhere. The West Virginia stereotype is changing, in spite of some of the silly movies made. People are learning and are coming to visit our beautiful State more as we have so much to offer. It is up to us to make sure they leave knowing we are the gracious hosts of West Virginia! So just laugh at the silly movies, or don't support them by seeing them. It's your choice. It's kind of like blonde jokes, just cuz you're blonde doesn't mean you shouldn't laugh at them, some are actually funny!

When Eleanor Roosevelt visited West Virginia mining towns in the 1930s, national newspapers ran pictures of rundown shacks and barefoot kids in rags, which left a lasting impression of the state as a backwater. West Virginians became the prototypical "hillbillies," and incest served as a crude "scientific" explanation for their downtrodden social condition.

In more recent memory, the 2003 film Wrong Turn helped perpetuate the inbreeding stereotype. I remember a female teacher in 1995 at ehs having an inapropriate relation ship with a female student, I also two years before that a substitute teacher was doing the quarterback! Everyone knew but no one said anything! Today is a different time and it's for the better teachers are told very clearly about these matters that they will be prosecuted! So stupidity can not be a defense in this situation only a miss placed thought of love sick as it maybe!!!

You call a woman who you don't even know, i do though...she is my cousin..., a pig. You don't even know if it is true. Have you ever heard of innocent until proven guilty? I'm sure that you have. when i was 16 i didnt care if it was a 28yr old or a 16 yr old as long as i got my rocks off......you people always blame the teachers but geee lets see how many have you have ever sweet talked a lady sometimes it dont take much.....if my son came home and tell me he is have sex with his teacher id say well is she good lookin then i tell him to keep it safe its going to happen people quit livin in the 70,s i see young people and older getting hooked up more every day

Let me just tell you something..if a TEACHER even so much as approached MY 16 yr old daughter for sex I would NOT wait for the police to get involved. I don't think its a matter of "wanting" it. I agree that teenage boys are sex crazy but she should have had the presence of mind to know that this was inappropriate. She is getting what she deserves I hope it was good.

Let me get this straight shaun. You thinks its ok for an adult school teacher to have sex with a middle school student, but that drugs are the real problem with our society. I would say both are bad but time was well spent here. Let natural selection take care of the drug addicts. Time has already proven how ineffective the war on drugs really is. Drug users need help not jail. At least they are only hurting themselves. Unless the drugs have led them to other crimes. Kodos to whoever took this sick woman down. My daughter is a freshman at EHS and told me that since 7th grade it has been obvious that something was going on other than a teacher student school relationship. If other students noticed this how come nobody within the school system noticed? Ms. Faulkner must have been one of those teachers who didn't have the proper credentials to teach. Hired most likely by the former superintendent of schools Sue Hinzman. Wonder if the state found this violation when they stepped in and made Ms. Hinzman step out!!! Will she be given probation just like the other sex offender who taught FFA?

I am so glad I moved and took my boys out of the Randolph County school system. I bet if you did some checking their could be more teachers who have done this.

The ones of us who are usually "huggers" now have to watch everything we do because of this idiot. What in the world could she possibly have in common with a 15 yr old? This is absolutely immoral and she needs to go to jail. How would she feel if this were her son??? What an absolute disgrace to the teaching profession!!
