WAYNE COUNTY -- Tri-State scores a hole-in-one with Allegiant Air as the low-cost airline announces new, nonstop flights to Myrtle Beach, S.C. from Huntington, W.V. beginning April 30.

The low-fare carrier will celebrate the convenient new service to the premier golf and beach destination with introductory fares as low as $39.00 each way.

“We are extremely pleased to again expand the Allegiant brand of low-fare, nonstop jet service to the Tri-State,” Maurice J. Gallagher, Jr., president, CEO and chairman for Allegiant Air, said.

“Based on our experience and success within the market, Huntington was chosen as one of only two airports to receive the new service. This is an exciting new addition for our airline and our customers as we launch Allegiant’s unique brand of service between Huntington and Myrtle Beach.”

“The flight from Huntington to Myrtle Beach will connect two great destinations.” Senator John D. (Jay) Rockefeller (D-WV), Chairman of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, said.

“Airlines continue to see the value of adding service to West Virginia, and I know this flight will be a success. Access to Myrtle Beach will also promote tourism and economic development in the state. I commend Allegiant Air for choosing Huntington, and I commend the community for making existing air service so successful.”

The self-proclaimed “Official Airline for Sunshine” will launch the new scheduled service from Tri-State Airport to Myrtle Beach International Airport with two flights weekly. With service Thursday and Sunday, flights will depart Huntington at 9:30 a.m. arriving in Myrtle Beach at 10:50 a.m. Flights leaving Myrtle Beach will depart at 1:10 p.m. arriving in Huntington at 2:30 p.m. (all flight times are local.)
