E.Coli in beef prompts recall.
Story by Craig McKee
Don't eat the beef....Kroger's stores in West Virginia and Ohio are recalling tons of it as part of a recall just a day before burgers hit the grill in celebration of the fourth.
The some of the beef could be contaminated with E. Coli and, if eaten, could result in severe illness to those individuals with a weakened immune system.
You should check your packaged beef for package dates between May 21st and July 3rd.
In addition to the ground beef described above, Kroger is recalling Private Selection Natural ground beef sold in 16 oz. packages that were in the self-service meat case. The "sell by" dates for this product is July 11 through July 21, 2008.
