Firefighters from three counties went back to school Saturday in Putnam County.
They took part in simulated fire situations with the help of a 53-foot mobile fire training unit that belongs to the West Virginia University Fire Service Extension.
The unit parked Saturday at Liberty Square in Teays Valley.
There was no charge for the firefighters or their departments for the unique learning experience.
The group is the first to train using the trailer that WVU obtained just this week.
The hands-on lessons count toward the firefighters' required training hours.
