HUNTINGTON -- A Cabell County teen, once thought to missing, now is being called a runaway.

The Cabell County Sheriff's Department issued a media advisory of a missing person's case Tuesday afternoon.

It had been five days since 17-year-old Cassie Porter was last seen or heard from.

The Cabell County Sheriff's Department was investigating her disappearance as a missing person case.

But deputies said after seeing the story on the news, Porter called her mother and told her she was OK.

Investigators said they believe the teen is in the area of Kanawha County, but is not considered to be in harm's way.
