Community Remembers Jarod Stouffer

Story by Deanne Stein

A community plans to celebrate the life of a local high school senior.

Jarod Stouffer died on Wednesday after being diagnosed with leukemia last week. He was a senior at Pt. Pleasant High School and co-captain of his football team.

A team of grief counselors are at the school this week. While school administrators initially planned to cancel Friday night's football game, the family decided against it. In fact, a pre-game celebration in Jarod's honor is planned prior to kickoff.

The celebration starts Friday at 7 p.m. at the Point Pleasant High School football field before the game against Meigs County.

A memorial service for Stouffer will be held Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Dean Funeral Home in Point Pleasant.
